Community Safety Volunteer Overview

(Non confrontational and non enforcement role)


We aim to deter, detect and disrupt opportunistic crime by:


  • Providing a visible volunteer presence
  • Providing Reassurance, directions and local information
  • Providing street crime prevention advice
  • Reporting crime and any relevant issues to the authorities
  • Helping victims of crime


Time Commitment


We are flexible, you can volunteer as much or as little time as you wish but you will need to walk in pairs. you will be walking alongside an experienced volunteer usually a superviser for the first few months.



Volunteer training


All community safety volunteers are trained and vetted including

  • De-escalation techniques:
  • Safeguarding awareness
  • Observation skills
  • First aid
  • Bleed kit training


  (Opportunities for progression to proactive team, volunteers will need to have SIA door superviser licence ,

which we will help you achieve along with, additional physical intervention and handcuff training.
